Ways of Getting Around
- Bicycle: This is widely considered the best way to explore the region. There are over 90 km of marked cycling trails, including the Liechtenstein Trails. Note: Bicycles are generally prohibited inside the formal Lednice Chateau park areas; you must walk your bike or park it outside.
- Walking: Ideal for exploring the immediate castle gardens and nearby monuments. However, walking between all the major sights in one day is difficult, as it can involve over 20 km of trekking.
- Boat & Horse-Drawn Carriage: For a more romantic pace, you can take a boat trip on the Thaya River from Lednice to the Minaret or Janohrad. Horse-drawn carriages also operate between these major landmarks.
- Public Bus & Train: Bus Line 555 connects Lednice and Valtice directly, taking about 16 minutes. Regular trains serve Valtice from Breclav. Regular rail service to Lednice is limited, though tourist trains may run during peak seasons.
- Car: Driving is the fastest way to move between the towns, and there are large paid parking lots near the main entrances.
